Act 1
Swan Lake
An expert of Tchaikovsky’s iconic ballet, choreographed by Amy Becke. The North East Dance Project dancers perform the renowned role of the swans and the huntsmen.
Musicians - The Fox
Performed live by John Nelson, Sarah Gorman and Dave Elliott. A traditional English folk song based on the poem, The Fox and the Goose.
Light of Hope
Choreographed by North East Dance Project dancer Danuta Wirkus, this contemporary piece explores the idea of keeping hope alive. How can we better deal with life's challenges? Performed by the North East Dance Project dancers. Music – Keep Hope Alive, LOVKN.
North East Dance Project 2.0 - Amour
Choreography by Amy Becke. Love, freedom and new beginnings. Amour celebrates the style and beauty of the 55+ dancers. Bringing together Ballet, Neoclassical and Spanish dance, the piece invites the audience to see the dancers in a different light. Music- Mil Pasos, Soha.
Lost in Springtime
Choreography by North East Dance Project dancer Stephanie Nelson, performed by the North East Dance Project dancers. Based on Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, the dancers perform the sacrifice of the dance to death in homage to spring. Primal and strange, the forest will come to life.
You Carry Them
Performed by guest performers Last Line Dance Company with choreography by Emily Nicholson. You Carry Them tells the story of losing, finding and letting go, only to discover that some moments never leave you. Inspired by memories of the dancers. We are a community dance group and hold weekly classes on Tuesday evenings at the John Marley Centre in Newcastle. Music – Je te laisserai des mots, Patrick Watson.

An original song by John Nelson, performed live by John Nelson, Sarah Gorman and Dave Elliott. Written after visits to Holy Island and the Isle of Mull, Celtic places where the ‘veil is thin’.
Backstage Romance
Choreography by North East Dance Project dancer Ellie Dimmick, performed by the North East Dance Project dancers. Backstage Romance offers a glimpse into the fire and passion of Moulin Rouge! Love, romance and the pursuit of artistic expression, experience the vibrant and chaotic environment.
Act 2
Seeing Red
Choreographed by Amy Becke, performed by the North East Dance Project dancers. Running, speeding, chasing, constantly trying to catch up. What happens when we slow down and let the pressure dissipate. Power, support, strength and beauty. Music – Tracked, Christophe Filippi.
Musicians – The Waters of Tyne
A traditional North East song, performed live by John Nelson, Sarah Gorman and Dave Elliott alongside dancers Alexa Istokova, Adela Bajerova and Emma Glen. Choreography by Stephanie Nelson.
Serenade of Water
Choreography by previous North East Dance Project dancer Chloe Ward, performed by the North East Dance Project dancers. Set to the orchestral version of Serenade of Water from The Legend of Zelda games, the piece explores the story of the water spirits who save a drowning girl.

A famous Geordie folk song by Geordie Ridley. Performed live by John Nelson, Sarah Gorman and Dave Elliott.
Me and my Baby
Performed and choreographed by the North East Dance Project dancers Ellie Dimmick, Emma Soura and Jari Dorian. Inspired by various versions of Me and My Baby from Chicago the musical. Fame, corruption and media manipulation, the dancers perform a stylised trio.
New Shoes
Choreography by Amy Becke, performed by the North East Dance Project dancers.
